Adventures In Babysitting

We have started watching Lexi and Kyle this month during the day. It has been going pretty smoothly. It is nice to have someone for McKadin to play with everyday. Him and Kyle run around the house fighting "Bad Guys" all day in their super hero outfits. It is funny to watch. These are just a few of the things they have done since they have been here.

Playing in the Snow. Man we have a ton of it!

This one had to be my favorite so far. "Tea Party" with hot chocolate and fishy crackers. I let them pour there own hot water and scoop there own chocolate and they thought that was so exciting. LOL the boy especially were funny. Sorry Daddy!

This Month had been absolutely crazy. We have had someone staying out our house from like the 8th of December until the 26th. On top of that the house has been put up for sale so we have been having a ton of people coming to see the house (meaning we have to leave), people coming in to fix and inspect the house and staying all day. So we are very ready to be able to have our normal everyday life back!

We moved up north the end of September in to Tyler Grandpa's house. He wanted to sell it, so the deal was we would help get whipped in to shape. Well we apparently did too good of a job, because when he came up in December he put it up for sale and it sold in a week. Yeah I know it is crazy and just our luck!

..........So with no where to live we were extremely stressed out. Thankfully Jeff and Val came to the rescue and did a little calling around and there old apartment complex that they live and managed still was managed by the same lady, and she was willing to give us a killer deal on rent, in exchange for shoveling snow, let us only do a three month contract going month to month after that, and waving a bunch a fees!!! Man was that answer to prays! That is something we have been extremely thankful about this year, people who are willing to help other in there time of need! Thank you everyone who loves us!

So that is what is going on with us so far. We have been battling sickness (yeah I know when are we not! I can just hear Jake now!). McKadin has developed Croup, Sophie had been battling a nasty cold and ear infection, and of course now as we are about to move on Saturday I am starting to feel like utter crapiola! So hopefully we can be over the nasty stuff very soon! We are looking forward to a brighter year this next year and hopefully things can look up and we can get back up on our feet! Thank you for your prayers!

12/28 Books to Review

So I guess I should be giving a Holiday update, but to be perfectly honest..... I just don't feel like it! I will have an update real soon, but at the moment I haven't gone through my pictures and life is crazy, with moving on Saturday, trying to pack like a crazy lady, tending kids, and at the current moment hosting a big slumber party. So I though I would write a bit about the books I finished over the holiday...

"Look For Me By Moonlight"

This a young adult fiction about a young girl who visits her father, step mother and step brother in an isolated house on the coast of Maine that serves in the few summer months as a bed and breakfast. Seeing as it is the dead of winter Cynda finds it odd and exciting that a strange and extremely handsome man decided stay. Soon Cynda is falling madly in love...... but is this mysterious man everything she thought him to be???

Liked it didnt love it, but finished in an evening. Not a long read. Read it if you like vampire fiction.

This is a love story that takes place in Queen Elizabeth's court, where beauty is a curse, friendship is bought and sold, and true love is an unpardonable sin. Margret is a knights daughter, her father had arranged her a marriage to an Earl, she has never met him, but she is ready to become a dutiful wife. Earl Lytham on the other hand despises Margret the first moment he sees her. He only agreed to the marriage for profit, the last thing he wants is a beautiful young wife who will rip his heart out at the first chance she finds just like his first now ex-wife. Will they find love, or are they both destined for heartache?
I love reading books about and set in this time period. I have always found it fascinating. This book is filled with heartache, triumph, and love. I really enjoyed this novel. It was intimate detail clean and I found that refreshing and am looking forward to reading more from this author.

Stephanies Book Reviews

I consider myself an official "bookie" (a person who read a lot in Stephanie terminology.) I love to read and I love to go to the library and bring home a whole ton of books to discover. So I decided to give my two bits about the books after I have read them. Here is what I have read in the last week or so..........

To Have Or To Hold

Val Gray recommended this book. It is an LDS author, with LDS themes and I do have to say I really enjoyed it. I am usually the type that doesn't always like contemporary romances with out some adventure or super natural aspects... haha thanks Twilight. A book has to catch my attention quickly and throw me into a story.

This book was a tiny bit slow in the beginning and slow in certain areas. I do have to admit I had to skip a couple pages out of boredom. But I enjoyed the story line and would recommend it to anyone. Lets just put it this way I liked it so much I red in with in 24 hours. Yeah I had about a 1:30 night last night reading this book and couldn't put it down.

Thanks Val for the recommendation.

Jessica's Guide To Dating On The Dark Side

This was one of those books I discovered while roaming the aisles of the library, something I thoroughly enjoy. It is a young adult fiction with a fun and interesting story line. This one took me about two the three days to get down. It was good and frustrating all at the same time. One of those books you can put down because you need to make sure that it turns out the way you want, but are throwing fits at the character choices and decisions. I remember a couple times throwing the book down and venting to my husband about how frustrated I was with the story line.
I would recommend it if you like vampire fiction, but would give you a word of caution.....
Mr. Darcy Vampyre

I have read a few Pride and Prejudice sequels, both good and bad. This obviously a sequel with a twist. Mr. Darcy turns out to be a Vampire. A good one. Hmmm I don't even really know how to start on this one. It was good, enticing, boring, and frustrating. I enjoyed it, but personally I would have done the story line a little different. It had good parts, and boring. But I finished the book and that is a general sign of like. I skipped a few pages in this book as well.
Read it if you like vampire fiction and have an enormous love for Austen. I do have to say I may never look at Pride and Prejudice the same
If you have a good book you have read in mind, let me know so I can drive my husband even more crazy with my constant reading!

Victory

What a character my son is. There have been a few things he has done or said lately that have just made us laugh.
A few days ago he wanted me to get him a graham cracker out of the pantry. I said that was fine and he could have one. He ran around the living room dancing singing "Victory, Victory!".
This one made Tyler way excited, and it was so cute and such a Mckadin thing to say. He came into the living room one night when Tyler was watching a Jazz game and said "Daddy can I watch the Jazz game with you?" Tyler was way excited and said of course, so McKadin came and sat right next to his Daddy. McKadin then continues to look up at his Dad with big green eyes and says "Daddy if you give me a cookie, I will snuggle you!"How could you resist that?!
Last night was one of those nights that is rough getting him to bed, because he had had a nap earlier in the day. Grandpa Boulter has been staying at our house, so McKadin has been put in our room with us. The first time McKadin came out of the room he had something in his mouth and was saying something like. "Gross, need to brush my teeth." We could quiet understand him because he had stuff in his mouth. And we were freaking out because we couldnt figure out what he had put in his mouth. So we ran to the bathroom and had him spit. His spit was pinkish. We made him come into our room and tell us what he had put in his mouth. It turned out he had found some laxatives and had put one in his mouth and chewed it. Yeah I know I need to keep that stuff out of reach. Thankfully the stuff is really mild and kids his age and take it. So we were waiting all night for him to rush to the bathroom.
The second time I came to check on him. He had gotten into some chapstick and had put it all over his face. Once again I told him no more getting into stuff and if you do you wont get to go see Santa the next day.
The third time McKadin came out into the dark living room where Tyler and I were watching a show. He had gotten into some lotion this time. He had it all over his cloths, literally, and all over his face. I mean thickly coated. This time I couldnt help but laugh hysterically because he looked so funny.
I do have to say to my parents that yes you are continually getting your revenge!!

Thanksgiving 2009

Thanksgiving this year we were blessed enough to go down to St George to celebrate. It was so much fun. We stayed at Brandon and Nats. It was so fun to get to spend alot of time with them. We celebrated the Holiday with my parents, and my Brother and sister in-law came up as well. The kids just had so much fun together. There were moments when we thought that they were going to kill each other, but other then that they had fun. We had my Moms famous turkey gravy, that Tyler literally talks about all year, and her famous Banana Creme Pie which is my holiday favorite. It was so nice to be with my family again. I sure miss them!

The weather was great. And after this week up here, I am ready to either head back down or never leave my house until spring because it is "FRICKEN COLD!!!!"

Tyler and Nat woke up early and went BLACK FRIDAY shopping. It was a whole new experience for Tyler since neither of us have ever been. But we got some amazing deals.

For some strange reason the kids were completely obsessed with wearing gloves all weekend. And of course my son is half naked (as usual) and Morgan is in his Football uniform, and Halle just looks cute as usual.

Tyler wearing Morgans BYU helmet. Yes he is a UTE fan.

The two pretty girls. And yes Jane is only 8 months old and she decided to crawl thanksgiving weekend.
